چکیده

Fouling has become the main problem in long-term application of ultrafiltration (UF) membrane for water and wastewater treatment, significantly reducing productivity. In this paper, fouling on polysulfone-based was analyzed using Hermia’s model during textile treatment. The UF been prepared by blending polysulfone (PSf), acetone, PEG400 DMAc, with ZnO nanoparticles at a concentration 1% weight polymers (PSf PEG400). influence (18 20 wt.%) (0 - 25 mechanisms investigated. It found that increase from 18 to wt.% reduced permeate flux 54 L.m-2.h-1. Vise versa, enhanced flux. More stable achieved when used prepare membrane. type depends characteristics A significant decline occurred without addition PEG400. Smaller pore higher hydrophobicity due high induced cake layer surface first 40 minutes ultrafiltration. Further operating time, internal formed movement pollutants side caused different concentrations. highest color rejection (86%) added solution. Keywords: fouling, hermia model, ultrafiltration,

Fouling and cleaning of reverse osmosis membrane applied to membrane bioreactor effluent treating textile wastewater

Membrane bioreactor (MBR) and reverse osmosis (RO) membrane system was applied to the treatment and reclamation of textile wastewater in Thailand. An experiment was carried out to determine the fouling behavior and effect of anti-scalant and biocide addition to flux decline and its recovery through chemical cleaning. The RO unit was operated for one month after which the fouled membranes were c...

Effect of Concentration of Cations on Activated Sludge Properties and Membrane Fouling in Membrane Bioreactors for Wastewater Treatment

This paper presents the results of an investigation on the effects of concentration of cations on activated sludge properties and membrane fouling in submerge membrane bioreactors. The working volume of the experimental setup was two liters. The cellulose acetate membrane was immersed in the bioreactor. The flocculability, settling properties and fouling propensity of activated sludge was measu...

Textile Dyeing Wastewater Treatment

Textile industry can be classified into three categories viz., cotton, woolen, and synthetic fibers depending upon the used raw materials. The cotton textile industry is one of the oldest industries in China. The textile dyeing industry consumes large quantities of water and produces large volumes of wastewater from different steps in the dyeing and finishing processes. Wastewater from printing...
